News Reporter

This is a terrific opportunity for a smart, passionate reporter who is up for the challenge of contributing to a startup website and gaining experience in writing about financial news, the economy, and China. Limited experience in these areas is acceptable as you will be working with people who can explain and guide your development.

As part of a small and growing team, it is essential that you are eager to thrive within a fast-paced environment while prioritizing deadlines and discerning news and trends in company reports.

Job responsibilities include: tracking daily developments in the U.S. markets and in the Chinese media for news regarding our list of relevant companies; writing quick summaries of news, plus longer feature articles about companies and trends; interviewing research analysts and company executives for in-depth stories to give readers perspective on important issues and events.

Required:

• Experience writing for a daily publication or website.

• Native level of proficiency in English.

• Experience in generating new ideas and writing original stories.

• Desire and ability to listen, read, and learn.

• Availability to work early-morning hours from offices in Santa Clara.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of capital markets and regulatory filings.

• Experience reporting about companies and financial industry.

• Educational background in business or journalism.

• An ability to read Mandarin.
